Meet the Contigo Idiomas Team: The Faces Behind the Books

At Contigo Idiomas, we believe that every book is an invitation—to imagine, to explore, to grow. But behind every book you see on our shelves (virtual or otherwise), there’s a team of real people who love stories as much as your children do.

Today, we’d love to pull back the curtain and introduce ourselves—because while our books are for children, our passion is for building lasting connections with schools, parents and teachers across Mexico.

Who Are We?

Contigo Idiomas began with a shared passion: getting the right books into the hands of young readers. Founded by Gaby and Neil, two educators with international experience in teaching and curriculum design, the company was born out of a simple but powerful idea—children in Mexico deserve access to brilliant British English books, no matter where they live or go to school.

Neil Crawford - Founder

Originally from the UK, Neil brings his experience in English education and curriculum development to the heart of Contigo Idiomas. He’s particularly focused on helping schools in Mexico connect with authentic British literature and build long-term reading programmes that work.

Favourite classic: The Wind in the Willows—every time.

Gaby Navidad - Founder

With a background in bilingual education and academic coordination, Gaby has spent over a decade helping schools choose books that inspire imagination, support learning goals, and actually get read. She’s especially passionate about picture books that open conversations and early readers that build confidence.

Favourite reading time: When a child asks to read it again.

Why They Started Contigo Idiomas

As teachers and parents themselves, Gaby and Neil saw first-hand how difficult it could be to find quality books—especially ones that support English learning through authentic, engaging stories.

So, they built Contigo Idiomas to make it easier for:

  • Schools to access the latest and most-loved British titles

  • Teachers to build reading corners, book boxes and libraries

  • Parents to choose books that match their child’s level and interests

They’ve since helped dozens of schools create custom book fairs, install reading corners, and stock their shelves with a thoughtful mix of new releases and timeless classics.
